Prior life: the end of a bolt of old drapery fabric. The owner of a San Francisco upholstery store gave it to us. She had once been a drapery and clothes seamstress. She had had this fabric for a long time.
What a really big bag. It could easily carry an afghan project, books or be used as a carry or overnight bag. The fabric is vintage cotton drapery fabric which has been reinforced with heavy and soft interfacing to make it very strong. The bottom has a strong and stiff interfacing. The bag is off white with a bit of very light pink. The bouquets of flowers are blue, golden, pink and burgundy. There is a blue and golden ribbon which swirls through the fabric, tying a bow around each bouquet. It is old fashioned and quaint and lovely. There is a large open pocket on the front which is closed with a magnetic snap. The back and two sides have "puffy" pockets which are secured with elastic. The bag expands when opened. There are two magnetic snaps which when unsnapped make a really really large area for keeping a project. The two straps are reinforced with soft and heavy interfacing and are very strong. The bag is lined in a light pink re purposed sheet fabric and has a matching pocket inside. It is a lovely bag which reminds me of fabric my grandmother would use.
